A practice sustained together
The encounter is a beginning.
What begins on the road continues through artists’ work, public exchange, publishing and a living archive. Sustained support gives this practice time, care and continuity.
Artists & their practice
Welfare, research and production for participating artists, and lasting support for the wider network’s creative work.
Spaces for exchange
Workshops, journeys, public screenings and exhibitions that connect everyday encounters with cultural and academic spaces.
Knowledge in circulation
The Invisible Borders Journal, the Moving Archive, and the coordination and digital tools that keep the work in motion.
Donations support the programme as a whole. These examples describe the work your gift helps sustain; gifts through this general donation campaign are not reserved for an individual activity.
Invisible Borders Trans-African Initiative is fiscally sponsored by Social Good Fund, a U.S.-based nonprofit fiscal sponsor and California-registered 501(c)(3) public charity.
Social Good Fund provides charitable oversight and administration. Donations received for the initiative are held in a restricted project fund for its approved charitable purposes, subject to Social Good Fund’s discretion and oversight.
Invisible Borders remains an independently registered Nigerian organisation. The U.S. 501(c)(3) status belongs to Social Good Fund.
Before you donate
A few things you may want to know.
For a conversation about donating, write to us.
partnerships@invisible-borders.comWho can donate?
We welcome donations from individuals, organisations and institutions who want to help sustain our work. You do not need to be an artist or part of our network. Give an amount that works for you, once or monthly.
Who manages the donations?
Donations are received by Social Good Fund for Invisible Borders Trans-African Initiative. This U.S.-based fiscal sponsor provides charitable oversight and administration. FundRazr supplies the online donation form.
How will my donation be used?
Your gift helps sustain Invisible Borders’ charitable artistic, educational and public-facing work, including artists’ welfare, research and production, publications, workshops, exhibitions and the archive. It also supports the coordination and general operating work that makes these activities possible.
Can I give once or every month?
Yes. Choose a one-time donation or monthly giving in the donation form. Suggested amounts are available, and you can enter an amount of your own.
Does a suggested amount fund one specific activity?
The descriptions show examples of what donations help make possible. Donations to this general campaign are pooled across the initiative’s approved charitable purposes; a suggested amount does not reserve your gift for an individual artist or activity.
Is this the Road Trip 2027 fundraiser?
This page funds Invisible Borders’ ongoing work. Every donation through this page also helps with planning the road trip. The dedicated appeal for the eleventh Trans-African Road Trip will be separate. You can already explore the journey from Marrakesh to Lagos.
Will donors be acknowledged publicly?
Yes, for those who wish to be. Invisible Borders plans to contact donors to ask whether they would like their names to appear on our supporters page and social media as supporters of the project. We will only share your name with your permission. You can also choose to keep your support private.
Who can I contact about donating?
For questions about donating, institutional support or a conversation about the work, contact partnerships@invisible-borders.com. Please do not send payment-card details by email.
