Invisible Borders at the 2019 N'GOLÁ Festival, Saõ Tomé

17 July 2019 | by Emeka Okereke

We are happy to announce that our next project will be taking place in São Tomé, in the framework of the N'GOLÁ Biennial of Arts and Culture.

It kicks off, on the 19th of July, with an 8-day workshop conducted by our Artistic Director, Emeka Okereke. This workshop will have as participants, photographers, writers and filmmakers living and working in São Tomé. The workshop will be heavily informed by the outcome of our 2018 Trans-African Road Trip from Lagos to Kigali, and its main focus will be to involve/expose participants to processes, thinking and experiences of trans-African exchange and how this translates into their various artistic means of expression. The workshop will also encourage participants to develop projects that turn their attention to their locality and immediate environment.

This will be followed by an exhibition (opening at the same time as the biennial) within which works from the archive of Invisible Borders Road Trips as well as works created by participants of the workshop, will be on display.

We shall be sharing updates our activities (process and outcome) throughout our time in São Tomé. Stay tuned!
